DISASTER SURVIVAL IN SUMMARY
In extreme circumstances the three requirements to sustain life are Water, Food and Warmth.

WATER
Your water supply maybe limited, contaminated, or “Cut Off”. By filtering through a sheet, towel etc and then boiling for 3 minutes, or using Puritabs, or a water filtering system such as the A Pure Water Filtration Straw provided in this First Response Disaster Kit, good health can be maintained.

FOOD
1) Eat consumables & freezer foods first, (if electricity is down)
2) Dehydrated and packet foods second
3) Canned foods should be kept till last

WARMTH
The three criteria for warmth are:
Warm Clothing, including hat, warm socks and gloves
Good Shelter, to eliminate the rain and chill factors
Heat Source, a sensibly placed open fire for cooking and heating purposes

Good Health is maintained by careful hygiene control:
- Wash regularly
- Bury wastes
- Discard or cook thoroughly if unsure about food
